Falconer's Hill Infant School Friday 10th July 2026

✨Review Of The Week ✨

What another fantastic—and very warm—week we have had at Falconer's Hill Infant School!

This week, we were delighted to welcome so many parents and carers into school for our 'Welcome to…' Evenings. It was wonderful to see families visiting their children's new classrooms, meeting their class teachers and finding out all about the exciting year ahead. From curriculum highlights and key assessments to educational visits and memorable learning experiences, we hope everyone left feeling excited and well-prepared for September.

Our children have continued their exciting travels around the world as part of our summer learning. This week, Year 2 have been jet-setting to China and Australia, immersing themselves in different cultures through a range of engaging activities and experiences. It has been fantastic to see their enthusiasm and curiosity as they have explored the world from their classrooms.

Although our planned trip to Daventry Country Park had to be cancelled due to the exceptionally high temperatures, the fun certainly didn't stop there! Instead, we enjoyed a wonderful non-uniform day, with water squirter battles, paddling pools and lots of opportunities to cool off together. To top it all off, everyone will enjoy a refreshing ice lolly in the afternoon, making for a memorable end to a very hot week.

A huge thank you to all of our families for your continued support during the recent heatwave. Your help in ensuring children arrived at school with hats, water bottles and sun cream has enabled us to keep everyone safe while still enjoying a fun-filled week.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend and look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday for another exciting week of learning and making memories together.

A Heartfelt Thank-you!

A huge thank you to all of our wonderful parents, carers and families for your generosity and kindness in supporting our School Summer Fayre. Whether you donated prizes, volunteered your time or came along to enjoy the afternoon, your support helped make the event such a fantastic success.

A very special thank you also goes to our amazing PTA, who dedicated so much time and effort to organising and planning such a brilliant event for our whole school community. We are incredibly grateful for everything you do for our children.

Thanks to your incredible support, we are delighted to share that we raised an amazing £1,050!

The money raised will be used to purchase exciting new resources for our outdoor areas, including role-play equipment and playground games such as giant dominoes, new football goals and construction equipment, helping to make lunchtimes and break times even more enjoyable for all of our children.

We are so grateful for your continued support and generosity. Together, we are creating even more wonderful opportunities for our children to learn, play and thrive. Thank you! 🌟

Attendance Matters

Attendance is a priority concern as part of our commitment to safeguarding every child. We believe that children can only reach their full potential through regular, full-time education.

🎯Our Attendance Target

At Falconer's Hill Infant School, we aim for all pupils to achieve at least 96% attendance.

✅  Why 96%?
Pupils with 96% or higher attendance gain a significant advantage — that’s at least 62 more hours of learning compared to a child with just 90% attendance.

Let’s work together to support our children’s education and make every school day count!

This Week's Attendance
6th July - 10th July

Here’s how each class did this week with their attendance:

🌰 Chestnut – 94%
🍁 Sycamore – 95.7%
🌿 Ash – 95%
🍂 Maple – 96.7%
🌳 Oak – 96%
🌼 Willow – 91%

🏫 Whole School Attendance – 94%

🥇 Congratulations to MAPLE for achieving the most attendance this week! You’ve earned the Attendance Cup! Well done!

Let's keep up the great attendance at our school — every day counts!

Attendance Communication

We kindly ask all parents and carers to contact the school as early as possible if your child is going to be absent.
You can notify us via:

  • Telephone: 01327 702878 – Office hours are 8am-4pm but leaving a voicemail is an option
  • Email: admin@fhis.inmat.org.uk
  • Seesaw message: Ideally to Mrs Griffiths or Mrs Orme.

If your child has a medical appointment, please inform the school office in advance.
Where possible, please provide appointment letters, cards, or confirmation messages so we can update our records accurately.

Early communication helps us keep our attendance records accurate and supports the wellbeing of all our students.

Thank you for your support and cooperation.

Seesaw Reminder

Seesaw Deadline – Friday 17 July 2026

Parents and carers are reminded that Friday 17 July is the deadline to download and save any photos, videos, learning journals or other content from your child's current Seesaw account.

After this date, pupils will be promoted to their new year groups, and you may no longer have access to content from their current class.

We recommend taking some time to save any items you would like to keep before the deadline.

Thank you for your support.

McCarthy Dixon Foundation Mufti Day

Falconer’s Hill Infant School has been fortunate to become part of the McCarthy Dixon Foundation family, who are a charity that helps to support over 90 schools in Northamptonshire.

They are able to provide tailored specialised aid to support our families through difficult times, and they are providing hampers at Christmas to some of our families who need a little extra help.

We are holding a Summer Celebration Mufti Day on Friday 17th July and all we ask in return is for a cash donation which will then be given to McCarthy Dixon so that they can continue to provide help and support to the community.

For more information on the charity, please visit :

Respectful Language & Behaviour on School Grounds

Family Support This Summer

The School Age Inclusion and Intervention Support Team (IIST) for West Northamptonshire are running a series of informal drop-in sessions at local Family Hubs over the summer holidays.

These sessions provide an opportunity for parents and carers of children in Year 1 to Year 13 to speak with an IIST practitioner about any concerns they may have regarding their child's needs, behaviour, wellbeing, school life, or home-based challenges. Advice, guidance, and support will be available in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Children are welcome to attend with their parent or carer.

Please see the attached poster for dates, times, and venue details.
