✨Review Of The Week ✨

What another fantastic week we have had at Falconer's Hill Infant School!

This week has been particularly special as we welcomed our new Reception families into school for our Meet the Teacher and Stay and Play sessions with Miss Clark and Mrs Haynes. It has been wonderful to see so many excited faces exploring the classrooms, meeting new friends and beginning their school journey with us. We are very much looking forward to officially welcoming our newest members of the FHIS family in September.

Meanwhile, our current Year 2 children have been busy transitioning to Falconer's Hill Academy. It is an exciting time filled with new opportunities, friendships and experiences, and we know they will continue to shine as they begin the next chapter of their learning journey.

Our current Reception children have also enjoyed spending time in Year 1 with Mr Little and Miss Evans, while our current Year 1 children have loved becoming the oldest children in the school as they transitioned into Year 2 with Miss Hall and Mrs Wicks. It has been wonderful to see the children embracing these new experiences with enthusiasm, confidence and curiosity.

Next week, we look forward to welcoming families to our 'Welcome to…' Evenings. These sessions provide a valuable opportunity to meet your child's class teacher, visit their new classroom and find out about the exciting learning experiences, key events and expectations for the year ahead. We hope to see as many of you there as we prepare for another exciting academic year together.

  • Welcome to YR 2 Evening – Monday 6th July 4:30-5:30
  • Welcome to YR 1 Evening – Tuesday 7th July 4:30-5:30
  • Welcome to EYFS Evening – Wednesday 8th July 4:30-5:30

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend. We look forward to seeing everyone back in school on Monday for another week of learning, laughter and making memories.

Attendance Matters

Attendance is a priority concern as part of our commitment to safeguarding every child. We believe that children can only reach their full potential through regular, full-time education.

🎯Our Attendance Target

At Falconer's Hill Infant School, we aim for all pupils to achieve at least 96% attendance.

✅  Why 96%?
Pupils with 96% or higher attendance gain a significant advantage — that’s at least 62 more hours of learning compared to a child with just 90% attendance.

Let’s work together to support our children’s education and make every school day count!

This Week's Attendance
29th June - 3rd July

Here’s how each class did this week with their attendance:

🌰 Chestnut – 98.5%
🍁 Sycamore – 99.2%
🌿 Ash – 97%
🍂 Maple – 99.5%
🌳 Oak – 98.4%
🌼 Willow – 94.4%

🏫 Whole School Attendance – 98%

🥇 Congratulations to OAK for achieving the most attendance this week! You’ve earned the Attendance Cup! Well done!

Let's keep up the great attendance at our school — every day counts!

Attendance Communication

We kindly ask all parents and carers to contact the school as early as possible if your child is going to be absent.
You can notify us via:

  • Telephone: 01327 702878 – Office hours are 8am-4pm but leaving a voicemail is an option
  • Email: admin@fhis.inmat.org.uk
  • Seesaw message: Ideally to Mrs Griffiths or Mrs Orme.

If your child has a medical appointment, please inform the school office in advance.
Where possible, please provide appointment letters, cards, or confirmation messages so we can update our records accurately.

Early communication helps us keep our attendance records accurate and supports the wellbeing of all our students.

Thank you for your support and cooperation.

McCarthy Dixon Foundation Mufti Day

Falconer’s Hill Infant School has been fortunate to become part of the McCarthy Dixon Foundation family, who are a charity that helps to support over 90 schools in Northamptonshire.

They are able to provide tailored specialised aid to support our families through difficult times, and they are providing hampers at Christmas to some of our families who need a little extra help.

We are holding a Summer Celebration Mufti Day on Friday 17th July and all we ask in return is for a cash donation which will then be given to McCarthy Dixon so that they can continue to provide help and support to the community.

For more information on the charity, please visit :

If you are in the school office foyer, we kindly ask that you do not let other visitors in.

We appreciate the politeness, but this is an important part of keeping everyone safe and maintaining privacy within our school.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Respectful Language & Behaviour on School Grounds

We kindly remind parents, carers, and visitors to use kind and respectful language at all times on the school site. Swearing, hand gestures or unkind words are not appropriate, as we aim to set a positive example for our children and maintain a caring, welcoming environment for everyone.

Family Support This Summer

The School Age Inclusion and Intervention Support Team (IIST) for West Northamptonshire are running a series of informal drop-in sessions at local Family Hubs over the summer holidays.

These sessions provide an opportunity for parents and carers of children in Year 1 to Year 13 to speak with an IIST practitioner about any concerns they may have regarding their child's needs, behaviour, wellbeing, school life, or home-based challenges. Advice, guidance, and support will be available in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Children are welcome to attend with their parent or carer.

Please see the attached poster for dates, times, and venue details.
