Review Of The Week
Wow, what a busy and exciting final week of term it has been!
In EYFS, the children have continued their learning about People Who Help Us. Their learning was brought to life with a special visit from our local PSCO and police officer, who also brought along their police van for the children to explore. In Maths, EYFS have continued working hard on their number bonds to 10.
Year 1 have been practising counting in 2s, 5s and 10s, as well as writing about our school, including the areas they enjoy the most and where they feel safest. They have also continued to develop their creative talents through painting in the style of Vincent van Gogh.
Year 2 have been busy learning all about time, with a particular focus on quarter past and quarter to the hour. Some of our Year 2 children also demonstrated our school values wonderfully while representing the school at the Royal & Derngate during the Big Sing performance, themed around the zoo. We are incredibly proud of their perseverance, commitment and excellent behaviour within the community.
This week has also included our phonics assessments. Thank you for your continued support with daily reading at home, which plays such an important role in your childβs educational journey.
To celebrate the childrenβs engagement in learning this term, the whole school enjoyed a special values treat on the school field.
As the weather becomes warmer, please ensure sun cream is applied before school and that your child brings a hat and water bottle each day.
We wish you all a wonderful half-term break and look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday 1st June when school reopens.
