✨Review Of The Week βœ¨

What another great week we have had in school.

It was wonderful to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Day together, with everyone wearing green πŸ’š and taking time to reflect on the importance of kindness, wellbeing and looking after one another.

Our children in EYFS have continued their exciting learning about People Who Help Us, this week exploring the important role of the Police. The children thoroughly enjoyed listening to the story Cops and Robbers and taking part in related activities and discussions.

In Year 1, the children have continued their fantastic maths learning by exploring early multiplication. They have been practising counting in 2s and grouping amounts carefully. Perhaps at home you could look for things that come in pairs and practise counting in twos together.

Year 2 have been working very hard on telling the time. The children have started by learning o’clock and half past using their own analogue clocks. Some children have even begun exploring quarter past and quarter to. See if your child can practise telling the time at home too!

A special thank you to all of the parents and families who completed our Summer Parent Survey. Your voice is incredibly important to us and your feedback helps us celebrate what has gone well this year, whilst also identifying ways we can continue to improve and grow next year. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

Best wishes,

Miss Giles

Attendance Matters

Attendance is a priority concern as part of our commitment to safeguarding every child. We believe that children can only reach their full potential through regular, full-time education.

🎯Our Attendance Target

At Falconer's Hill Infant School, we aim for all pupils to achieve at least 96% attendance.

βœ…  Why 96%?
Pupils with 96% or higher attendance gain a significant advantage β€” that’s at least 62 more hours of learning compared to a child with just 90% attendance.

Let’s work together to support our children’s education and make every school day count!

This Week's Attendance

πŸ₯‡ Congratulations to Maple Class for achieving 98.6% attendance this week! You’ve earned the Attendance Cup! Well done!

Let's keep up the great attendance at our school β€” every day counts!

PTA Volunteer Opportunity – Can You Help at Our Summer Fayre?

We are looking for a family volunteer to join our PTA and support the school at our upcoming Summer Fayre.

This is a small, friendly role open to parents or grandparents of children in the school. The focus will be helping to run a table stall at the fayre, supporting the PTA in creating a fun and successful event for our school community.

The role is entirely voluntary and a great way to get involved, meet other families, and contribute to school life.

If you are interested or would like to find out more, please contact the school office.

Thank you for your continued support!

School Office Foyer

If you are in the school office foyer, we kindly ask that you do not let other visitors in.

We appreciate the politeness, but this is an important part of keeping everyone safe and maintaining privacy within our school.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Respectful Language & Behaviour on School Grounds

We kindly remind parents, carers, and visitors to use kind and respectful language at all times on the school site. Swearing, hand gestures or unkind words are not appropriate, as we aim to set a positive example for our children and maintain a caring, welcoming environment for everyone.

No Smoking or Vaping on School Grounds.

We kindly remind all parents, carers, and visitors that smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere on the school site, including car parks and outdoor areas.

This helps us maintain a clean, healthy, and safe environment for all our students, staff, and families. Thank you for your cooperation and for setting a positive example for our young people.

Information for parents – Helping your child stay safe

Helping your child stay safe
At school, we teach children simple ways to understand how to keep their bodies safe. One of these is the PANTS Rule, created by the NSPCC.

It helps children learn that their body belongs to them.

Our key message:
Privates are private, and your body belongs to you.

It helps children learn that their body belongs to them.

Our key message:
Privates are private, and your body belongs to you.

How can you support this at home?
βœ” Use simple, correct names for body parts
βœ” Remind your child their body belongs to them
βœ” Encourage open, calm conversations
βœ” Let them know they will never be in trouble for telling you something.
βœ” Revisit these messages regularly in everyday situations
