✨Review Of The Week ✨

What an amazing week it has been in school!

It has been filled with exciting experiences and wonderful opportunities for our children to truly love their learning.

One of the highlights of the week was our fantastic Animal SMART Day. The children had a brilliant time learning about different animal classifications and exploring the characteristics that make animals unique. It was wonderful to see so many creative costumes, with children dressed as a wide range of animals. The excitement didn’t stop there—we were even lucky enough to welcome real-life animals into school, which created a memorable and engaging learning experience for all.

On Friday, we had an extra special treat during assembly with a visit from Raptor Xotics, who brought along a real-life peregrine falcon. The children were fascinated to see such a magnificent bird up close and learn more about birds of prey.

Our Key Stage 1 children also had an exciting trip to Twycross Zoo, where they explored a variety of animals and learnt about their different habitats. It was a fantastic opportunity to bring their learning to life and deepen their understanding through real-world experiences.

Thank you to all staff and families for your continued support in making these opportunities possible.

Weeks like this truly showcase the joy of learning within our school community.

Attendance Matters

Attendance is a priority concern as part of our commitment to safeguarding every child. We believe that children can only reach their full potential through regular, full-time education.

🎯Our Attendance Target

At Falconer's Hill Infant School, we aim for all pupils to achieve at least 96% attendance.

✅  Why 96%?
Pupils with 96% or higher attendance gain a significant advantage — that’s at least 62 more hours of learning compared to a child with just 90% attendance.

Let’s work together to support our children’s education and make every school day count!

This Week's Attendance
27th April - 1st May

Here’s how each class did this week with their attendance:

🌰 Chestnut – 97%
🍁 Sycamore – 94%
🌿 Ash – 98%
🍂 Maple – 97%
🌳 Oak – 97%
🌼 Willow – 97%

🏫 Whole School Attendance – 97%

🥇 Congratulations to ASH Class for achieving 98% attendance this week! You’ve earned the Attendance Cup! Well done!

Let's keep up the great attendance at our school — every day counts!

Attendance Communication

We kindly ask all parents and carers to contact the school as early as possible if your child is going to be absent.
You can notify us via:

  • Telephone: 01327 702878 – Office hours are 8am-4pm but leaving a voicemail is an option
  • Email: admin@fhis.inmat.org.uk
  • Seesaw message: Ideally to Mrs Griffiths or Mrs Orme.

If your child has a medical appointment, please inform the school office in advance.
Where possible, please provide appointment letters, cards, or confirmation messages so we can update our records accurately.

Early communication helps us keep our attendance records accurate and supports the wellbeing of all our students.

Thank you for your support and cooperation.

Wear It Green Day

On Friday 15th May, we welcome everyone to wear green for Mental Health Awareness Week (11-17 May 2026).

Let’s turn the world green for good mental health.

Donations welcome!

School Office Foyer

If you are in the school office foyer, we kindly ask that you do not let other visitors in.

We appreciate the politeness, but this is an important part of keeping everyone safe and maintaining privacy within our school.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Respectful Language & Behaviour on School Grounds

We kindly remind parents, carers, and visitors to use kind and respectful language at all times on the school site. Swearing, hand gestures or unkind words are not appropriate, as we aim to set a positive example for our children and maintain a caring, welcoming environment for everyone.

No Smoking or Vaping on School Grounds.

We kindly remind all parents, carers, and visitors that smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere on the school site, including car parks and outdoor areas.

This helps us maintain a clean, healthy, and safe environment for all our students, staff, and families. Thank you for your cooperation and for setting a positive example for our young people.

Book Raffle

We’re excited to encourage a love of reading with our Reading Ticket initiative! Each term, your child will receive reading tickets to complete at home. Once finished, they can bring them back to school and pop them into our special prize box.

Every week in our celebration assembly, we’ll draw tickets at random—and lucky winners will receive a book to take home and keep!

We love seeing our children develop a passion for reading, and your support at home makes all the difference. Happy reading! ???

Information for parents – Helping your child stay safe

Helping your child stay safe
At school, we teach children simple ways to understand how to keep their bodies safe. One of these is the PANTS Rule, created by the NSPCC.

It helps children learn that their body belongs to them.

Our key message:
Privates are private, and your body belongs to you.

It helps children learn that their body belongs to them.

Our key message:
Privates are private, and your body belongs to you.

How can you support this at home?
✔ Use simple, correct names for body parts
✔ Remind your child their body belongs to them
✔ Encourage open, calm conversations
✔ Let them know they will never be in trouble for telling you something.
✔ Revisit these messages regularly in everyday situations
