Review Of The Week at FHIS
It’s been another wonderfully busy week at Falconer’s Hill Infant School! The children have returned to school calm, settled, and ready to learn, which has made for a really positive start to the new half-term.
Across the school, there’s been a growing buzz of excitement as the children have begun practising their Nativity songs — both in classrooms and during our lively singing assembly this week. It’s been lovely to hear such joyful singing echoing through the corridors!
On Friday, we celebrated our Bonfire Smart Day, where children learnt all about how and why we celebrate Bonfire Night. They enjoyed a range of themed activities, including the highlight of the day — toasting and eating marshmallows!
In classrooms, learning has continued to sparkle:
- Year 1 have been developing their mathematical fluency, revisiting addition and subtraction during their Friday arithmetic session.
- Year 2 have been busy in History, sequencing the events of the Great Fire of London and deepening their understanding of this important moment in history.
- Our EYFS children have been fully immersed in the magic of fireworks, using their creativity to draw, write, and paint dazzling firework displays.
It’s been a fantastic week full of learning, creativity, and excitement — well done to all our children for their enthusiasm and effort!
