Review Of The Week

It’s been another busy and exciting week at school, filled with learning, achievement, and special moments across the year groups!

A huge well done to our Year 1 children, who have worked incredibly hard in preparation for their Phonics Screening Check. This week, they proudly showcased all their fantastic progress in phonics, and we couldn't be prouder of the effort, resilience, and enthusiasm they’ve shown. Well done, Year 1 – your hard work has truly paid off!

In Early Years, the learning journey about ‘People Who Help Us’ continued. This week, the children were thrilled to welcome PC Sangster, who visited to talk about how the police keep us safe in our community. The children asked thoughtful questions and were inspired by the important role police officers play – thank you, PC Sangster!

Meanwhile, in Year 2, the focus has been on telling the time. Building on what they learnt in Year 1, the children have been practising reading time to the hour and a half past using mini-clocks and working together in pairs. It’s been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they tackled this important life skill with curiosity and teamwork.

Well done to all our children for another brilliant week of learning.

Have a restful weekend – we look forward to another exciting week ahead!

Attendance

Attendance is a priority concern in our duty to ‘safeguard’ children. We believe that children can reach their full potential only by receiving full-time education through regular attendance.

Our target

At Falconer's Hill Infant School we want to achieve attendance for all pupils of 96% or greater. This is a minimum of an additional 62 hours of learning achieved compared to that of 90% attendance.

Monday 9th June –Friday 13th June

Chestnut – 97%

Sycamore – 96%

Ash – 93%

Maple – 97%

Oak – 98%

Willow – 96%

Whole school – 96%

Supervision walking to school

We kindly remind all parents and carers to ensure children are supervised when walking down the driveway to the school gates.

For everyone’s safety, please accompany younger students and remind older children to walk carefully and be aware of others.

Thank you for helping us keep our school community safe.

Sun Safety

Now that the weather is starting to improve and getting warmer, please can we gently remind parents/guardians to send children in with water bottles and sun hats.

Sunglasses are not allowed in school unless it's for medical reasons. Sun cream is to be applied before school and not sent in with the children as we are unable to apply this for them.
