Review Of The Week

It’s been another fantastic week of learning, creativity, and adventure at Falconer's Hill Infant School.

🎶 Year 2’s Big Sing at the Royal Derngate
On Wednesday, our Year 2 children took part in the exciting Big Sing event at the Royal Derngate Theatre. It was a joy to see their enthusiasm and energy as they performed alongside other schools. They represented our school brilliantly, and we are incredibly proud of their hard work and confidence on such a big stage!

🧪 Year 1’s Trip to the Think Tank Museum
Year 1 enjoyed an inspiring trip to the Birmingham Think Tank Science Museum, where they explored fascinating exhibits, took part in interactive learning, and deepened their understanding of science and technology. It was a wonderful day full of curiosity, questions, and hands-on discovery.

📚 Reception and the Gingerbread Man
Our Reception children have been fully immersed in the story of The Gingerbread Man this week. Through role-play, storytelling, and creative activities, they’ve brought the tale to life in the classroom. Their excitement and imagination have filled the week with fun and fantastic learning moments.

As we approach the end of term, we’d like to take a moment to thank our families, staff, and children for their ongoing hard work, support, and the sense of belonging you bring to our school community.

Your contributions are what make our school such a warm, welcoming, and thriving place to learn and grow.

Wishing you a wonderful half-term.

We look forward to welcoming you back to school on Monday 2nd June.

Congratulations to Miss Waldock

We are thrilled to share the joyful news that Miss Waldock is getting married!

Please join us in extending heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for a future filled with love, laughter, and happiness. Miss Waldock has touched so many lives here at Falconers Hill Infants School, and we couldn’t be happier to celebrate this wonderful milestone with her.

Wishing Miss Waldock all the best on this exciting new chapter!

We welcome her to school after the May half-term break, as Mrs Waldock!

Attendance

Attendance is a priority concern in our duty to ‘safeguard’ children. We believe that children can reach their full potential only by receiving full-time education through regular attendance.

Our target

At Falconer's Hill Infant School we want to achieve attendance for all pupils of 96% or greater. This is a minimum of an additional 62 hours of learning achieved compared to that of 90% attendance.

Monday 19th May–Friday 23rd May

Chestnut – 91%

Sycamore – 86%

Ash – 98%

Maple – 89%

Oak – 97%

Willow – 95%

Whole school – 93%

Last week's attendance cup winners were........

Ash class 98% - Well Done!!

Term Time Holiday Reminder

We would like to remind all families that, in line with government guidelines, we are unable to authorise family holidays during term time. Regular school attendance is essential to ensure that all pupils make consistent progress in their learning.

We kindly ask that holidays and family trips are planned during school holidays to avoid disruption to your child’s education.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Supervision Walking to School

We kindly remind all parents and carers to ensure children are supervised when walking down the driveway to the school gates.

For everyone’s safety, please accompany younger students and remind older children to walk carefully and be aware of others.

Thank you for helping us keep our school community safe.

Sun Safety

Now that the weather is starting to improve and getting warmer, please can we gently remind parents/guardians to send children in with water bottles and sun hats.

Sunglasses are not allowed in school unless it's for medical reasons. Sun cream is to be applied before school and not sent in with the children as we are unable to apply this to them.
