Review Of The Week

This week has been a very special one in school as we focused on the importance of looking after our mental health.

On Wednesday, the children enjoyed a visit from the Life Education Bus, where they learnt about managing their feelings and building resilience. We also took part in a calming whole-class yoga therapy session to practise relaxation techniques and shared the beautiful story The Heart and the Bottle by Oliver Jeffers, exploring how words and emotions are connected.

As part of our mental health focus, we also learnt about the vital role of good-quality sleep. A big thank you to our fantastic PTA for organising a cosy PJ non-uniform day and an after-school Bedtime Stories event, where children loved snuggling up with a biscuit and drink while listening to wonderful stories.

Looking ahead to next week, we’re excited about our Year 2 pupils taking part in the Big Sing performance at the Royal Derngate Theatre on Wednesday, and for Year 1's upcoming trip to Birmingham’s Thinktank Museum.

 Have a wonderful weekend.

Thank You School Council

A big thank you to our School Council for all the amazing work you’ve done to look after our school environment.

From collecting litter to putting up helpful posters and keeping our school clean and welcoming – your efforts haven’t gone unnoticed.

You've set a great example for us all.

Thank you for making a real difference!

Attendance

Attendance is a priority concern in our duty to ‘safeguard’ children. We believe that children can reach their full potential only by receiving full-time education through regular attendance.

Our target

At Falconer's Hill Infant School we want to achieve attendance for all pupils of 96% or greater. This is a minimum of an additional 62 hours of learning achieved compared to that of 90% attendance.

Monday 12th May–Friday 16th May

Chestnut – 95.6%

Sycamore – 93%

Ash – 98%

Maple – 95.2%

Oak – 97%

Willow – 95.9%

Whole school –  96%

Last week's attendance cup winners were......

Supervision walking to school

We kindly remind all parents and carers to ensure children are supervised when walking down the driveway to the school gates.

For everyone’s safety, please accompany younger students and remind older children to walk carefully and be aware of others.

Thank you for helping us keep our school community safe.

Sun Safety

Now that the weather is starting to improve and getting warmer, please can we gently remind parents/guardians to send children in with water bottles and sun hats.

Sunglasses are not allowed in school unless it's for medical reasons. Sun cream is to be applied before school and not sent in with the children as we are unable to apply this for them.

 Trip Payment Reminder

Just a gentle reminder regarding payment for our upcoming school trip.

Friday 20th June - Year 2 Hunstanton & Sealife Centre - The deadline for payment is 3:30pm on Friday 16th May.

Payment is to be made via Arbor. In the event we do not receive sufficient payment by the specified date, the trip may need to be cancelled, and a refund will be given.

Please contact the school office if your child is unable to attend, or you need assistance accessing Arbor.
