Review Of The Week

Despite a shorter week due to the Bank Holiday, it’s been just as busy and exciting for school!

In EYFS, children have been captivated by the classic tale Jack and the Beanstalk. They’ve explored the story through play, role-play, and creative activities, bringing the magical world of giants and beanstalks to life.

Year 1 have been budding authors this week, creating alternative versions of The Queen’s Hat. In their stories, Miss Giles takes the spotlight—this time it's her scarf that gets whisked away on a windy adventure! The children enjoyed imagining all the unexpected places they might travel to.

Year 2 have taken a journey around the globe, learning all about the continents of the world. Their geographical skills are growing as they explore maps, globes, and facts about our diverse planet.

We’re also looking forward to another fabulous event next week, kindly organised by our wonderful PTA. Thursday is PJ Day, and children can look forward to staying after school for some cosy bedtime stories—a lovely way to end the day and celebrate our love of reading!

Message From FHIS School Council

Let's Keep Our School Clean!

"We kindly ask everyone to help us take pride in our school environment by keeping it clean and tidy. Please remember to put all litter in the bins provided and encourage others to do the same."

Let’s work together to make our school a clean, safe, and welcoming place for everyone.

Thank you for your support.

Attendance

Attendance is a priority concern in our duty to ‘safeguard’ children. We believe that children can reach their full potential only by receiving full-time education through regular attendance.

Our target

At Falconer's Hill Infant School we want to achieve attendance for all pupils of 96% or greater. This is a minimum of an additional 62 hours of learning achieved compared to that of 90% attendance.

Tuesday 6th May - Friday 9th May

Chestnut – 98%

Sycamore – 94%

Ash – 95.3%

Maple – 99%

Oak – 95.2%

Willow – 95.7%

Whole school – 96%

Last week's attendance cup winners were......

Sycamore Class - 100% - Well Done!

Sun Safety

Now that the weather is starting to improve and getting warmer, please can we gently remind parents/guardians to send children in with water bottles and sun hats.

Sunglasses are not allowed in school unless it's for medical reasons. Sun cream is to be applied before school and not sent in with the children as we are unable to apply this for them.

 Trip Payment Reminder

Just a gentle reminder regarding payment for our upcoming school trip.

Friday 20th June - Year 2 Hunstanton & Sealife Centre - The deadline for payment is Friday 16th May.

Payment is to be made via Arbor. In the event we do not receive sufficient payment by the specified date, the trip may need to be cancelled, and a refund will be given.

Please contact the school office if your child is unable to attend, or you need assistance accessing Arbor.

Census Day

Thursday 15th May, is our special themed menu for Census Day.

It would be really beneficial to the school if as many children as possible were booked in for a school dinner on this day. It's equally a great opportunity for children to try the dishes that are available to them.

If you're worried your child may not like the meal that has been booked for them, please do feel free to send in a packed lunch aswell.

Please book these meals in the usual way via school grid.

Thank you as always for your continued support.
