?Head of School Review Of The Week ?

What another busy and exciting week we have had in school! It has been wonderful to see the children settling back into routines, learning, playing and demonstrating our school values throughout the week.

This week, we were delighted to welcome a very special visitor to school – our wonderful mascot, Fizz!

Fizz welcomed the children back to school and reminded us all about the values that are at the heart of our school community: responsibility, safety, cooperation, honesty, friendship and respect.

Fizz also introduced our exciting new Value Bottle Top Rewards! Whenever children demonstrate one of our school values, they can earn a bottle top for their class jar. Once the classroom jar is full, the children will enjoy a special values treat together.

But that’s not all! The bottle tops will also be added to our whole-school values jar, meaning that every class will be working together to show our values and achieve a whole-school reward.

This term, we are working towards hot chocolate or extra playtime! Each class is busily showing our British value of democracy by voting for their favourite treat! ☕️🍫

This will be announced at Monday's assembly by this year's School Council!

We can’t wait to see our children continuing to demonstrate our school values every day and working together to fill those jars.

Well done, everyone – keep showing those wonderful values!

We look forward to welcoming you tomorrow!

Attendance Matters

Attendance is a priority concern as part of our commitment to safeguarding every child. We believe that children can only reach their full potential through regular, full-time education.

🎯Our Attendance Target

At Falconer's Hill Infant School, we aim for all pupils to achieve at least 96% attendance.

✅  Why 96%?
Pupils with 96% or higher attendance gain a significant advantage — that’s at least 62 more hours of learning compared to a child with just 90% attendance.

Let’s work together to support our children’s education and make every school day count!

This Week's Attendance
21st September - 25th September

Here’s how each class did this week with their attendance:

🌰 Chestnut – 97%
🍁 Sycamore – 98%
🌿 Ash – 94%
🍂 Maple – 97%
🌳 Oak – 99%
🌼 Willow – 96%

🏫 Whole School Attendance – 97.3%

🥇 Congratulations to Oak for achieving the most attendance this week! You’ve earned the Attendance Cup! Well done!

Let's keep up the great attendance at our school — every day counts!

Attendance Communication

We kindly ask all parents and carers to contact the school as early as possible if your child is going to be absent.
You can notify us via:

  • Telephone: 01327 702878 – Office hours are 8am-4pm but leaving a voicemail is an option
  • Email: admin@fhis.inmat.org.uk
  • Seesaw message: Ideally to Mrs Griffiths or Mrs Orme.

If your child has a medical appointment, please inform the school office in advance.
Where possible, please provide appointment letters, cards, or confirmation messages so we can update our records accurately.

Early communication helps us keep our attendance records accurate and supports the wellbeing of all our students.

Thank you for your support and cooperation.

Home Learning at FHIS

This year, every child will receive a new home learning book, alongside phonics and key learning videos shared on Seesaw.

Class teachers will set one home learning task each week and collect the books for the following week.

For key dates and details about your child’s homework day, please speak to or contact your child’s class teacher.

We look forward to continuing to work together to support learning at home and school! ??

Miss Giles' creative challenge this half-term is 'Autumn Craft' to display in our school hall. Children who complete this home learning challenge will be able to collect a headteacher's sticker!
