โœจReview Of The Week โœจ

It has been a wonderful week in school, made even brighter by the welcome return of some sunshine! The children have been full of energy and enthusiasm, and it has been fantastic to see such positive engagement across all year groups.

In Art this week, pupils have been immersing themselves in the work of famous artists as part of our painting projects. Reception have been exploring the bold colours and patterns of Kandinsky, Year 1 have been inspired by the expressive style of Vincent van Gogh, and Year 2 have been studying the beautiful landscapes of Claude Monet. It has been a joy to see their creativity flourish and their confidence grow.

We are also looking ahead to an exciting week to come. Our Key Stage 1 children are eagerly anticipating their school trip to Twycross Zoo, which promises to be a memorable learning experience. In addition, we are looking forward to our Animal Smart Day, where we will be welcoming Raptor Xotics into school on Friday. The children are sure to be fascinated by the wonderful animals and creatures they will bring with them.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Have a lovely weekend.

Attendance Matters

Attendance is a priority concern as part of our commitment to safeguarding every child. We believe that children can only reach their full potential through regular, full-time education.

๐ŸŽฏOur Attendance Target

At Falconer's Hill Infant School, we aim for all pupils to achieve at least 96% attendance.

โœ…  Why 96%?
Pupils with 96% or higher attendance gain a significant advantage โ€” thatโ€™s at least 62 more hours of learning compared to a child with just 90% attendance.

Letโ€™s work together to support our childrenโ€™s education and make every school day count!

This Week's Attendance
20th April - 24th April

Hereโ€™s how each class did this week with their attendance:

๐ŸŒฐ Chestnut โ€“ 96%
๐Ÿ Sycamore โ€“ 97%
๐ŸŒฟ Ash โ€“ 98%
๐Ÿ‚ Maple โ€“ 97%
๐ŸŒณ Oak โ€“ 98%
๐ŸŒผ Willow โ€“ 97%

๐Ÿซ Whole School Attendance โ€“ 97%

๐Ÿฅ‡ Congratulations to Ash Class for achieving 98% attendance this week! Youโ€™ve earned the Attendance Cup! Well done!

Let's keep up the great attendance at our school โ€” every day counts!

Attendance Communication

We kindly ask all parents and carers to contact the school as early as possible if your child is going to be absent.
You can notify us via:

  • Telephone: 01327 702878 โ€“ Office hours are 8am-4pm but leaving a voicemail is an option
  • Email: admin@fhis.inmat.org.uk
  • Seesaw message: Ideally to Mrs Griffiths or Mrs Orme.

If your child has a medical appointment, please inform the school office in advance.
Where possible, please provide appointment letters, cards, or confirmation messages so we can update our records accurately.

Early communication helps us keep our attendance records accurate and supports the wellbeing of all our students.

Thank you for your support and cooperation.

PTA Volunteer Opportunity โ€“ Can You Help at Our Summer Fayre?

We are looking for a family volunteer to join our PTA and support the school at our upcoming Summer Fayre.

This is a small, friendly role open to parents or grandparents of children in the school. The focus will be helping to run a table stall at the fayre, supporting the PTA in creating a fun and successful event for our school community.

The role is entirely voluntary and a great way to get involved, meet other families, and contribute to school life.

If you are interested or would like to find out more, please contact the school office.

Thank you for your continued support!

Wraparound Care Update

Dear Parents/Carers,

Thank you for your patience while we have been establishing our wraparound care provision.

I am delighted to share that from Summer Term 2 (following the May half-term), wraparound care will be available at FHIS until 6:00pm. This provision will be delivered by S4A, who have extensive experience in offering high-quality wraparound care at a number of local schools.

Both Miss Giles and I have visited settings where S4A currently operates and were very impressed with their values, inclusive practices, and the wide range of activities available. We are therefore pleased to be welcoming them to FHIS.

Further information will be shared with you in the coming weeks.

School Office Foyer

If you are in the school office foyer, we kindly ask that you do not let other visitors in.

We appreciate the politeness, but this is an important part of keeping everyone safe and maintaining privacy within our school.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Respectful Language & Behaviour on School Grounds

We kindly remind parents, carers, and visitors to use kind and respectful language at all times on the school site. Swearing, hand gestures or unkind words are not appropriate, as we aim to set a positive example for our children and maintain a caring, welcoming environment for everyone.

No Smoking or Vaping on School Grounds.

We kindly remind all parents, carers, and visitors that smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere on the school site, including car parks and outdoor areas.

This helps us maintain a clean, healthy, and safe environment for all our students, staff, and families. Thank you for your cooperation and for setting a positive example for our young people.

Weโ€™re excited to encourage a love of reading with our Reading Ticket initiative! Each term, your child will receive reading tickets to complete at home. Once finished, they can bring them back to school and pop them into our special prize box.

Every week in our celebration assembly, weโ€™ll draw tickets at randomโ€”and lucky winners will receive a book to take home and keep!

We love seeing our children develop a passion for reading, and your support at home makes all the difference. Happy reading! ???
