Review Of The Week

🌟 Weekly Highlights from School 🌟

We've had an exciting and enriching week full of learning, exploration, and special visitors!

Early Years were thrilled to welcome a very special visitor – our local paramedic and nurse, Mr Haynes! As part of their topic ‘People Who Help Us’, the children learnt all about the important roles doctors and nurses play in keeping us healthy and brought the topic to life with real-life experiences, making it a truly memorable session for our youngest learners.

Year 1 have been on the move this week with some immersive maths! They’ve been learning all about position and direction through active and engaging activities that get their bodies – and brains – moving. It’s been fantastic to see maths in action!

Year 2 have dived deep into their topic inspired by The Snail and the Whale, exploring the fascinating world of sea creatures. Their learning culminated in an exciting trip to Hunstanton Beach and the Sea Life Centre, where they will see marine life up close and reinforce all they have learnt in the classroom.

Well done to all our pupils for their enthusiasm and hard work this week. We’re already looking forward to what next week will bring!

There will be no stars of the week this week due to our Year 2 children being on a trip.

Significant milestone for InMat

We are incredibly proud to share that ALL 11 of our InMat schools are now officially rated Ofsted Good!

This achievement represents much more than a rating — it reflects the journey we have been on together as a trust. Through hard work, collaboration, and a relentless focus on providing the very best education for every child, our dedicated school teams have made this possible.

We are immensely grateful to our passionate teachers, support staff, school leaders, governors, central team, and, of course, our wonderful pupils and their families. Your commitment, resilience, and belief in continuous improvement have brought us here.

This is a true team achievement — and we are excited about what the future holds as we continue to grow, learn, and provide the best possible outcomes for our children.

CONGRATULATIONS EVERYONE!

Attendance

Attendance is a priority concern in our duty to ‘safeguard’ children. We believe that children can reach their full potential only by receiving full-time education through regular attendance.

Our target

At Falconer's Hill Infant School we want to achieve attendance for all pupils of 96% or greater. This is a minimum of an additional 62 hours of learning achieved compared to that of 90% attendance.

Monday 16th June – Friday 20th June

Chestnut – 97%

Sycamore – 90%

Ash – 93%

Maple – 97%

Oak – 96%

Willow – 99%

Whole school – 96%

Celebrations

We would like to celebrate and thank Mrs Edkins for her hard work and dedication as she was invited to present at the PiXL London Conference last Friday, sharing the excellent work that the school has achieved with regard to adaptive teaching.

We would also like to celebrate and thank Miss Giles this week for her dedication and hard work towards pedagogy and effective teaching and learning, as she was also invited to present at the Manchester Walkthrus conference on Friday, alongside Simon Blight for the InMat Trust.

Both of these acknowledgements highlight the high standards and expertise that the school has been working on over the past few years to ensure the best education for our children at Falconers Hill Infant School.

Reminders

  • Next week, parents of children in Year 1 will receive a letter informing them if their child has passed the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check through a letter that will be emailed to them.
  • Next Thursday 26th June is the EYFS trip to Mini Meadows. Miss Hanson will be in contact with more information early next week.

Sun Safety

As the weather is expected to be warm this week, please remember to:

  • Apply suncream to your child before they come to school.
  • Send them in with a sun hat.
  • Ensure they have a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us keep the children safe and comfortable during the warmer days.
