Review Of The Week

Welcome Back!
We were delighted to welcome everyone back to school after the half-term break. The children returned with big smiles, full of energy, and ready for an exciting new half-term of learning and discovery.

Key Stage 1 – Assessment Week
This week marked Assessment Week for our Key Stage 1 pupils. A huge well done to all of our Year 1 and Year 2 children who worked so hard and showed great focus during their reading, writing, and maths assessments. Staff were impressed by the positive attitude and determination shown across all the classrooms. The results will help teachers to tailor support and celebrate progress.

Early Years – ‘People Who Help Me’
In Early Years, the children have been learning about the topic of "People Who Help Me." It has been a joyful and engaging week filled with role-play, stories, and real-life experiences. The highlight of the week was a special visit from the local fire department! Children had the opportunity to meet real firefighters, explore a fire engine, and learn about fire safety in an age-appropriate and memorable way. It was a truly inspiring visit that brought the topic to life!

Attendance

Attendance is a priority concern in our duty to ‘safeguard’ children. We believe that children can reach their full potential only by receiving full-time education through regular attendance.

Our target

At Falconer's Hill Infant School we want to achieve attendance for all pupils of 96% or greater. This is a minimum of an additional 62 hours of learning achieved compared to that of 90% attendance.

Monday 2nd June – Friday 6th June

Chestnut – 91%

Sycamore – 93%

Ash – 92%

Maple – 96%

Oak – 98%

Willow – 97%

Whole school – 95%

Supervision Walking to School

We kindly remind all parents and carers to ensure children are supervised when walking down the driveway to the school gates.

For everyone’s safety, please accompany younger students and remind older children to walk carefully and be aware of others.

Thank you for helping us keep our school community safe.

Sun Safety

Now that the weather is starting to improve and getting warmer, please can we gently remind parents/guardians to send children in with water bottles and sun hats.

Sunglasses are not allowed in school unless it's for medical reasons. Sun cream is to be applied before school and not sent in with the children as we are unable to apply this for them.

Timings Reminder

We would like to remind all families that our classroom doors open at 8:45am each school day.

Prior to this time, there is no staff supervision available, and children should not be left unattended on the premises. We have recently observed instances where children have been left unsupervised before school hours. To ensure the safety and well-being of all our children, we kindly ask that children are not dropped off before 8:45am unless they are attending a pre-arranged activity such as Breakfast Club.

If you require assistance with early supervision, please contact the school office to book into Breakfast Club.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe environment for all our pupils.
