Review Of The Week

As we close the term, we reflect on the vibrant learning experiences our students have had. From creating beautiful spring artwork to designing and wearing colourful springtime bonnets, the children have embraced the season with enthusiasm.

It has been a busy and enriching term, full of wonderful opportunities for growth and creativity.

This week, we saw the chicks leave the classroom and return to the farm, a perfect way to tie into our learning about caring for animals. In Year 2, students completed and evaluated their hand-sewn bags, a project that combined creativity with practical skills. Year 1 has been busy handling the chicks, learning about responsibility and the importance of caring for living creatures. Meanwhile, Reception class has been working diligently to write CVC (Consonant-Vowel-Consonant) words independently during their continuous provision.

A special thank you to all the parents who attended consultations this week. It’s always lovely to connect and share the progress of your children.

We wish all families a joyful and restful Easter holiday. May you enjoy the sunshine and spend quality time together.

Chick Update

Yesterday Falconer's Hill said a fond farewell to the chicks.

The children have enjoyed watching them hatch & grow over the last 2 weeks.

Plenty of cuddles were had, but the chicks were more than ready to head back to the farm and explore.

Attendance

Attendance is a priority concern in our duty to ‘safeguard’ children. We believe that children can reach their full potential only by receiving full-time education through regular attendance.

Our target

At FHIS we want to achieve attendance for all pupils of 96% or greater. This is a minimum of an additional 62 hours of learning achieved compared to that of 90% attendance.

31st March - 4th April

Chestnut – 97%

Sycamore – 97%

Ash – 94%

Maple – 94%

Oak – 94%

Willow – 98%

Whole school – 96%
