Review Of The Week

It's been another fantastic week here at Falconer's Hill Infant School, filled with exciting learning opportunities!

We celebrated World Maths Day, with pupils across the school engaging in fun activities to enhance their mathematical skills.

Year 1 students worked hard to make bird feeders as part of their instructional writing, while Year 2 explored measuring with centimetres, remembering the important rule of starting at zero on the ruler.

Meanwhile, our Reception classrooms have been learning about what a chick needs to live, and this week, we were thrilled to witness the hatching of nine adorable chicks!

Our preparations for next week's spring shows are in full swing, with lots of singing practice taking place. We are also looking forward to welcoming parents to school next week for parent consultations, where we will celebrate the children's achievements so far this year.

What a wonderful week of learning and growth!

Playtime fun with Year 2

Children have been independently building habitats and 'dens' at lunchtime for mini-beasts.

This is also linked to our work in science, all about habitats.

The Chicks are back!

On Monday, we welcomed the chicks back to FHIS!

The excitement has been building in school as we eagerly awaited for the eggs to hatch.

We now have 9 fluffy chicks.

The children will soon have the opportunity to hold them, if they wish.

Attendance

Attendance is a priority concern in our duty to ‘safeguard’ children. We believe that children can reach their full potential only by receiving full-time education through regular attendance.

Our target

At FHIS we want to achieve attendance for all pupils of 96% or greater. This is a minimum of an additional 62 hours of learning achieved compared to that of 90% attendance.

24th March - 28th March

Chestnut – 98%

Sycamore – 99%

Ash – 97%

Maple – 95%

Oak – 96%

Willow – 98.5%

Whole school – 97.4%
