Review Of The Week

Exciting Science Week at School!

What a thrilling Science Week we’ve had! The school was buzzing with excitement as students embarked on an incredible journey of discovery and exploration.

Shooting to the Stars – Space Day
Our Space Day was truly out of this world! Children immersed themselves in the wonders of the universe, learning about the planets, stars, and galaxies. They had a blast designing and launching their own rockets, sparking curiosity about space travel and the science behind it. From building models of the solar system to discovering fascinating space facts, our young astronomers had an unforgettable experience.

Celebrating Animal Smart Day
Next, we turned our attention to the incredible world of animals! On Animal Smart Day, students explored different animal classifications, learning what makes mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, and insects unique. They had the exciting opportunity to observe real-life creepy crawlies up close, developing a new appreciation for the tiny creatures that share our world. Inspired by their discoveries, the children produced some fantastic writing, showcasing their knowledge and creativity through stories, fact files, and reports.

Science Week was an amazing adventure, filled with hands-on learning, creativity, and excitement.

We can’t wait to do it all again next year!

Super Me!

Our fantastic writers who entered the writing competitions have had their work published into a book.

We are very proud of their hard work and perseverance.

Attendance

Attendance is a priority concern in our duty to ‘safeguard’ children. We believe that children can reach their full potential only by receiving full-time education through regular attendance.

Our target

At FHIS we want to achieve attendance for all pupils of 96% or greater. This is a minimum of an additional 62 hours of learning achieved compared to that of 90% attendance.

10th March - 14th March

Chestnut – 97%

Sycamore – 98%

Ash – 98%

Maple – 96%

Oak – 97%

Willow – 97%

Whole school – 97.5%
